There’s a major difference between actual vintage and antiques and the random assortment of items that pop up in your Facebook marketplace search for “vintage” or “antique” items.
And that’s all fine and dandy if you’re just looking for an aesthetic and don’t care whether the pieces are authentic. I mean, there’s some serious advantages to that!
✔️ You’ll avoid the hefty price-tag that comes with true vintage
✔️ You’ll get the vibe and aesthetic you’re looking for
✔️ You’ll be able to feed your marketplace addiction without breaking the bank (the biggest win ever, in my books)
But I gotta admit — I’m a sucker for true vintage and antique (especially colonial) items! I don’t know if I should be ashamed of this or not (spoiler: I’m not!) but I spend an unhealthy amount of time scrolling Facebook marketplace buying things I absolutely do not need. The quality of authentic pieces is unmatched, and I love knowing that I have a one-of-a-kind piece.
Recently, Anja and I also made another “trek” out to Calgary, Alberta to source some European antique pieces for the store. While we wanted to buy literally everything we saw, we thought we’d save our wallets some heartache and only took a few pieces home.
Here’s are a few of the items we just couldn't resist!
And in case you haven't seen her beautiful work, you’re going to want to check out our exclusive collection from Anja Interiors.
If you’re looking for an actual antique pot or vase from Europe, you can count on paying upwards of $300.00. Anja refurbishes these vases, candlesticks and décor using various techniques to give you the same look, but for way less!
